- Kabocha ยท 95 days ยท 6โ12 lbs/plant โ C. maxima โ dry, sweet, chestnut flesh (buttercup is its kin); a fine keeper.
- Butternut ยท 100 days ยท 8โ15 lbs/plant โ C. moschata โ the solid-necked keeper; vine-borer resistant, stores all winter.
- Hubbard ยท 110 days ยท 10โ25 lbs/plant โ The big C. maxima storage squash โ a long haul to a root-cellar giant.
