🦃 White Holland

Turkeys · breed reference

The historic white turkey — white sports of the Black bred on in Holland, back across with the immigrants, an APA variety since 1874. THE CAVEAT: it was crossed so heavily into building the Broad Breasted White that true old-type White Hollands are rare, and some hatchery “White Hollands” are just smallish commercial whites. A naturally-mating bird with the clean white carcass — ask the breeder which lineage they sell.
