The mixed loft — every pigeon breed is one species and crosses freely, and plenty of lofts start with a rescue: the STREET PIGEON IS THIS BIRD (feral Columba livia, escaped domestics all the way down), and grounded ferals, lost racers wearing another loft's band, and retired wedding whites all land here. A found banded bird can be reported to the AU or IF by its band number; most owners say keep it.
