Every wing and shield feather curls into a ringlet — the poodle of the loft, and one of the oldest fancy breeds (Ottoman aviaries kept them). The curl is structural, not a condition, and it costs the bird real flight — another reason the aviary rule holds. Show judges read the tightness and coverage of curl before anything else.
