The French farm squab breed — “mondain” just means the ordinary worldly pigeon, and for centuries it was exactly that on French farms. Broad, deep and famously docile; American squab plants ran it beside the King, and pet keepers now prize the same two-pound bird for sitting still in a lap. A steady producer that weans a heavy squab.
