π Manchurian Cross
Pheasants & Partridge Β· breed reference
The preserve trade's favourite cross β Manchurian-type blood over standard ring-neck, for a bird that carries a Jumbo's size with a Chinese bird's flush. βManchurianβ on a US price list almost always means THIS CROSS rather than pure *P. c. pallasi* from Manchuria, which is a genuinely rare aviary bird here; pinned because the two words cost very different money. A cross, so it doesn't breed true β keep buying chicks, or expect the size to drift back.
