The Golden's sibling and its opposite in palette — white, black-scalloped and iridescent green, with a two-foot barred tail and a red-and-white cape; named for Sarah Amherst, who sent the first pair to England in 1828. Every bit as hardy and easy as the Golden. THE HYBRID WARNING IS THE SAME ONE, from this side: the two *Chrysolophus* cross readily and the young are FERTILE, so mongrel birds have quietly seeded both gene pools for a century. If a cock's cape shows orange in the white, look harder at his parentage.
