🍗 Jumbo Ringneck

Pheasants & Partridge · breed reference

The MEAT line — ring-necks selected up to nearly four pounds for the table and the restaurant trade, sold as “Jumbo” or “Ringneck Jumbo” on game-farm lists. Still the same species and still breeds naturally (nothing here is a Broad Breasted turkey), but the weight costs it: slower to finish, a shorter flush, and a poorer release bird than the standard Chinese — the trade-off runs the same way as the Pekin duck's Jumbo line, and for the same reason.
