The Reeves's cousin — chestnut, white and barred, with the same *Syrmaticus* build on a shorter tail, and much of the same attitude: the cock turns on his KEEPER in season (Reeves's turns on its hens; this one comes for you). Cold-hardy, heat-shy, a good sitter, and genuinely uncommon in US collections — a bird worth breeding carefully rather than casually.
