๐ Blackneck Pheasant
Pheasants & Partridge ยท breed reference
The dark-necked European bird (*P. colchicus colchicus*, the nominate race) โ the original pheasant of Roman and medieval Europe, before Chinese ring-necks were crossed in. NO white neck ring, and a wilder disposition: preserves buy it for birds that flush hard and fly high rather than run. Smaller than the Chinese and slower to the table.
