Geese ยท breed reference
The West Country's own AUTO-SEXING farm goose โ ganders white, geese grey-pied, from the down โ and very probably one of the Pilgrim's ancestors. Nearly extinct in Britain by the 1980s and still uncommon here, but a thoroughly good middling homestead bird: broody, motherly, and a hard grazer. Not on the Livestock Conservancy's list at all, which reflects how few are in the US rather than any security.
