THE GERMAN FIGHTING GOOSE — bred in Thuringia for goose fights, a real rural sport into the twentieth century, and the temper is exactly what you'd predict: it will not tolerate another gander, and it's calm and even friendly with its keeper. Run one gander per pen. BLUE NEVER BREEDS TRUE: blue × blue throws blue, grey and a pale splash type, the same dilution genetics as the Blue Swedish duck and the Andalusian chicken. Rare in the US and worth seeking out.
