Geese ยท breed reference
THE AUTO-SEXING GOOSE, and the reason this catalog carries that axis: ganders hatch creamy-white and stay white, geese hatch grey and keep a grey saddle with a white face โ from the down, with no vent-sexing and no waiting a year. Geese are among the hardest poultry to sex, so this is worth far more than the same trait would be in a duck. Bred in Iowa in the 1930s by Oscar Grow, who named it for the family's own Depression-era move west. Livestock Conservancy: Threatened.
