Unknown or mixed parentage — hybrid vigour, unpredictable size, and often the best forager on the place. THE CROSS BREEDS ON, which is the opposite of what happens on the duck page: a Muscovy × mallard gives the sterile Moulard, but a swan-goose breed crossed with a greylag one (Chinese × Embden, say) throws FERTILE offspring, so an unpenned mixed flock keeps going by itself.
