Ducks ยท breed reference
A crofting LANDRACE from the Shetland Isles, not a standardized show breed โ selected for centuries on nothing but hardiness, foraging and reliable laying in wind and rain. Black with a white bib, and the third of the dark-egg black ducks alongside the Cayuga and the East Indie. Newly added to the American rare-breed list; fewer than two hundred birds are thought to be in the US.
